The Tooth That Had To Go...

On Sunday afternoon I asked Jaden about her loose tooth.

She says it is really wiggly, but she is scared to pull it.

Paula and Mom tell me that Jaden already has another tooth growing behind the loose one.

The three of us decide the tooth has to come out.

Jaden at first is excited, but very quickly decided that maybe this is not a good idea.

We discuss with Jaden that the tooth needs to come out.

Jaden says NO!

After a serious discussion about money... ok, let's pull this tooth!

At first Paula tries Dental Floss tied to the tooth...

Then some thread...

Paula tries using a dish towel to grab on to the tooth...

After a little while we have had no luck...

A lot of crying has begun...

After about 15 minutes we give up...

10 minutes later Paula asks Jaden to let her try one more time...

Jaden says "No string...just the dish towel"

After two more tries...

Success!

Jaden was shocked when her tooth came out.

Shocked, but very excited!

In the next picture you can see the new tooth already growing

Now remember that serious discussion about money...

Let's just say Aunt Niece is a big softie...

Softball in the Spring...

Spring: Time for some Softball!

I had taken Jaden over to Southern Nazarene University last fall to watch a Softball game.

She really liked watching the "Big Girls" play, and I promised we would go back in the spring.

My girl, wearing my sunglasses, waiting on the game to start.

Jaden loved watching the game. She would even count balls and strikes.

My very good friend is the coach at SNU. She told Jaden to come back soon, and she would introduce her to some of the players. Jaden can't wait to go back!

This last picture is so Jaden..

Our Little Gymnast

Addie had a recital at gymnastics about a month ago.

Yes...a month ago.

This was Addie's first recital, and she was so excited!

Here is our little gymnast...

Wait...people are looking at me!
I will cover my ears and act like they are not here.

Performing a backward roll...

Showing off her great balance beam skills...

Addie's favorite...Jumping on the Trampoline!

All of the kids received a medal at the end of the recital.

Hey look...I got a medal!

Good Job Addie!

I think this picture best represents the feelings of my sister and mother...

The problem...I have have not taken any pictures of the girls lately.

Not one...single...picture!

But I hope to change this very soon.

Finally - Christmas!

I know...I know....Christmas was almost two weeks ago!

I had good intentions of blogging these sooner. Unfortunately the ugly stomach virus I had changed those plans!

Once again Santa made a quick stop by Nanny and PaPa's house to leave a few gifts for the girls...

One little girl's presents included this dollhouse and furniture...

The other little girl would have to unwrap her presents to find out what Santa had brought her...

Addie was beyond excited to see her name on this.
She even commented "It is just what I always wanted!"

Jaden unwrapping her big gift from Santa....
A Karaoke Machine and Microphone!

Addie opening another of the many presents she received

Jaden with her new purse I bought her. She really just started wanting to have a purse. She really would like to have a Coach purse like Nanny and Mommy...but 6 is a little young!

One of the two Bratz dolls I got for Addie. She really likes these dolls.

This was a must have for Jaden. She loves to do art projects, and has tried using my paper trimmers for her projects. I am always afraid she will cut herself on one of my paper trimmers, so I thought this would be perfect for her.

Two new movies for Addie.
One can never have too many movies...or can they?

Jaden also received these Disney Princess Paint Pens. They are pretty cool! When the paint dries the pictures are then 3D!

This is just a small glimpse of everything the girls received. I went by there house New Year's Eve day and Paula had me go into the girls play room. Needless to say they was so much new stuff mixed in with old toys. You could barely open the door...and I think there was still carpet under all the stuff!

I hope everyone had a good Christmas! I know I did...
More on that later!

First OU Basketball Game!

The night before Thanksgiving I took Jaden with me to her first OU Women's Basketball game. Jaden had told me she wanted to go to a game before, only to back out at the last minute. I was so glad when she finally agreed to go...but she had a few conditions.

#1 - She could have anything she wanted to eat
#2 - I had to buy her something at the game
#3 - We had to sit in good seats

On the way to Norman we stopped and ate at McDonalds...#1 on her list:check

Once we arrived at the game, I realized they were giving out OU Pom-Poms.
Unfortunately they seemed to have run out by this time. A very nice woman noticed Jaden did not receive one, and she asked Jaden if she would like hers.

Since Jaden had never been to a game I thought we should walk around and look at some of the display cases they have all around the walkway at the very top. Of course Jaden saw the small gift shop.

This OU Bear was a must have for Jaden...#2 on her list:check

She and I then walked around a cool area downstairs called Legacy Court. Here there are several display cases filled with jerseys, trophies, and other items. There is a basketball here that has the actual hand size of a member of both the men and women's team. The women's team member is #3 Courtney Paris. I told Jaden to put her hand on top of the imprint of Courtney's.

Jaden's hand compared to Courtney's hand.

Jaden couldn't believe the difference in size!

Jaden and a picture of Courtney Paris

Before the game started Jaden decided she needed something else to eat. Of course she reminded me that I told her she could eat whatever she wanted,(see #1 above). Popcorn was of course her snack of choice.

And last, condition #3.

Jaden did not know where the seats we have are located. I did tell her they were in the lower section, just not how far down they are. We started walking down the stairs and finally got to our seats. I am very fortunate that a few years ago Barb and I got the seats we now sit in for every home game...on the second row!

Jaden was very happy with the seating. #3 on her list:check

Thanks for going with me Jaden! I hope you had fun...I know I did!
