First Day of School - One Day Late

As promised here are pictures of the First Day of School. They are a day late, but better a day late than 3 months after they were taken!
Beware: There are a lot of pictures. I tried to narrow it down, but I could not leave any out.

First up...Jaden the 'BIG' Second Grader

Next...Addie the Kindergartner

It seems like just yesterday this girl was starting Kindergarten...

And this one...I can not believe she is 5!

I had told both of the girls if I was not satisfied with the pictures before school we would be having a "re-take" session after school. They were both kind to their Aunt Niece and there was no need for an after school session.

They even took a couple of good pictures TOGETHER! Rare thing. Love when it happens!

Jaden and her backpack. This will not be her permanent bag. She asked for a messenger bag and of course I am here to provide my girls whatever they want. I thought we were never going to find an appropriate bag, but one was located. Jaden actually picked two different bags out of a catalog. I was happy we had choices, but of course they both were out of stock. As soon as one becomes available it will be ordered.

Addie was a little easier to buy for. We decided to go to Target and get a backpack. Addie had an idea of what she wanted, and I had an idea of what she needed. See, Addie thinks she is almost 8 like her sister. Addie gets to watch a lot of the shows on the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon that her sister enjoys. For some reason Jaden thinks that since she is older she controls the remote. So, Addie wanted an iCarly or Hannah Montana backpack. I thought that a Disney Princess or Tinkerbell would be better suited for my favorite 5 year-old. There was one iCarly backpack, but Addie did not even notice it...until Jaden pointed it out to her! It took some negotiation on my part, but Tinkerbell ended up being the choice.

Jaden: I know you are going to have a great year! You have so many of your friends in your class. You are so happy that you get to walk Addie to her class each morning. You are such a good big sister. I can not wait to see what this year holds for you. I can not wait to hear about all of the new things you learn in Second Grade.

Addie: I know you were so excited to be going to "Jaden's" school. I know you will do great in Kindergarten. You are growing up way too fast for your Aunt Niece. You keep telling me about all the new friends you are going to make at school. I believe you, because you always seem to make friends wherever you go.

My two sweet girls...

Aunt Niece hopes you both have an AMAZING year!

Oh Summer Where Did You Go?

I would swear these pictures were just taken yesterday. I had BIG plans for this summer. I wanted to be able to enjoy, and document, as much of each and every day of this summer. Summer went by WAY TOO FAST! I did take a lot of pictures. I obviously have not blogged ONE TIME ALL SUMMER LONG!

I will be writing those blogs very soon. I want to be able to look back at this one day and be able to remember all the fun things these kids did in the summer of 2010. I will be back tomorrow to blog about the first day of school.

I decided I should post the last day of school pictures for 2009-2010 before the first day of school 2010-2011...

First up...Paula and her girls at the 1st grade picnic at Jaden's school. Jaden was so excited that Mommy, Nanny, Addie, and Keller could come to her school and have lunch with her.

Jaden and her teacher Mrs. Fletcher. Jaden loved being in Mrs. Fletcher's class. Jaden told me she would miss being in her class, but that she was happy she could still see her when school started again. Jaden always hugged Mrs. Fletcher at the end of the day. I know that Jaden was very lucky to have such a great teacher for First Grade.

Addie and her teacher Mrs. Parson's. To say that Addie loved being in this class is a major understatement. Every day when Nanny picked her up Addie would tell Mrs. Parson's that she loved her and would miss her. Everyday Mrs. Parson's would tell Addie that she loved her and would miss her too. I had talked to Addie a few days before this and asked her if she would miss being in Pre-K. She said "Yes, but I will miss Mrs. Parson's more". Mrs. Parson's called Addie one day this summer and left her a message on the answering machine telling her that she hoped she was having a great summer. Addie tells me every time we drive by the school that she wants to go see Mrs. Parson's and just say hi. We will have to do that very soon.

Tomorrow both girls will be going to the same school. Jaden is excited that she will get to walk Addie to her classroom. Addie is excited that she is going to Jaden's school. Both of the girls have met their respective teachers, and they both are excited about going to school. Jaden's best friend Callie is in her class, much to both of their relief, after being in separate classes last year. Addie tells me that she thinks the best part of being in Kindergarten is going to be meeting her best friend. When I asked her how she knew she was going to meet her best friend she looked at me with a very serious Addie look and said "Because Jaden met Callie in Kindergarten, that is where best friends meet".

My girls are growing up too fast for their Aunt Niece.
